Our IB Journey

Le Monde International School is a public charter school serving students in Pre-K through Grade 5, located in Norman, Oklahoma, committed to providing a high-quality, globally focused education rooted in inquiry, creativity, and purpose. As an official International Baccalaureate (IB) Candidate School, Le Monde is actively working toward full authorization of the IB Primary Years Programme, guided by a strong commitment to international-mindedness, academic excellence, and holistic student development.

As an immersion school, Le Monde offers students the opportunity to learn through French or Spanish, while intentionally building strong English language and literacy skills. This multilingual approach supports cognitive growth, cultural understanding, and meaningful communication. Students are encouraged to think critically, ask thoughtful questions, and engage with the world in more than one language.

Learning at Le Monde is student-centered and inquiry-driven. Instruction is aligned with IB philosophy and state standards, ensuring students develop strong academic foundations while also growing as thinkers, collaborators, and responsible global citizens. Approaches to Learning, such as research, communication, self-management, social skills, and critical thinking, are intentionally woven throughout daily learning experiences.

Le Monde’s school culture is enriched through authentic learning experiences, cultural celebrations, and strong community partnerships. Events such as Celebrations of Learning, Oktoberfest, Discovery and Donuts, and family inquiry opportunities highlight student voice, creativity, and real-world connections.
